The European Union has decided to lift the ban that was previously imposed on the export of waste paper to India. Experts believe that in this state it will be possible to provide support for the paper industry in resolving the issue related to the lack of secondary raw materials. Paper waste is an important material that is in demand in India. Recycled secondary raw materials are in demand among local companies that are engaged in paper manufacturing activities. Today there is a demand for the same kraft paper. It is used for the manufacture of packages, boxes, as well as various products popular with consumers.
If earlier export was banned, today everything has changed dramatically. This happened due to the fact that India decided to raise the issue related to exports. Initially, the answer was that the current situation is the result of a technical error. But however, the European Union had to resolve this issue, because it was very acute for the Indian representatives of the paper business. The lifting of the ban affected the dynamics of prices for the same cardboard waste. The OCC 11 waste paper price has fallen within the country by about $15 per 1 ton of recycled paper.
India is more profitable to work with European countries. From there you can get paper recycled materials at more affordable prices. The US is farther away. American suppliers have higher prices than European suppliers. Cargo from America has to wait 45-60 days. From EU countries, goods arrive in 30-45 days. However, despite the good news for papermakers in India, analysts believe that the full effect of the lifting of the ban will be observed no earlier than 2 months later.
