The European Union has ambitious waste reduction targets. The reason for this is the increasing amount of garbage. Today, countries that are part of the European Union generate more than two billion tons of waste annually. This includes waste paper, in particular DLK paper, used office paper and others. Therefore, it is understandable why the authorities are thinking about what measures need to be taken to cope with such a mountain of garbage. However, there is a problem. Waste management is done differently in different countries. But there is also unity in one of the approaches, namely, to do everything possible to increase processing volumes.
The European Union’s goal is to achieve a circular economy option. In achieving this goal, recycling plays a major role. Because it is with its help that it will be possible to organize a closed cycle. The point is that waste will be recycled and put back into production. It is important to note that in the period 2018-2021 the volume of waste generated per European increased significantly. This forced the European Union to set a global challenge to resolve the issue more effectively. However, problems still remain. In particular, not all waste can be recycled. But every European country is interested in solving the problem. The decision to strive for a circular economy is therefore widely supported.
