Limited import of waste paper negatively affects the market

OCC 11 waste paper

Processing plants in Southeast Asia are experiencing problems. This is due to the fact that OCC 11 waste paper and other types of used paper are quite difficult to purchase in other countries. The limited import of waste paper has a negative impact on the market in this region of the world and on the activities of companies involved in recycling. But at the same time, there is a decrease in demand, although, as experts say, this is a temporary phenomenon. Because processors in any country are strongly interested in ensuring that supplies of raw materials are ensured in the required volumes. As is known, the efficiency of production activities related to the processing of used paper, as well as other waste, which, due to their properties, can be successfully recycled, directly depends on the regularity of deliveries and their volume.

Limitation of imports is associated with many problems. Often, the authorities of certain states impose restrictions that do not allow waste paper to be exported beyond state borders. An example is that quite recently the European Union decided that waste paper should not be exported abroad, in particular to India. However, representatives of Indian processing enterprises took the initiative at the international level and achieved the reversal of this decision. Such cases are not uncommon. Waste brokers often face similar restrictions, but due to their specific activities, they are able to solve the problems of those who are interested in the supply of waste paper, regardless of their location.
