Japan, like other developed countries, is successfully operating in the processing industry. Over the past 10 years, this state has significantly increased the volume of processing old corrugated containers and other types of paper recyclables. Last year alone, Japan managed to recycle more than 81% of waste paper. When compared with 2022, the figure has not changed much. However, the last decade has shown that Japan has been very successful in its recycling plans and is seeking to increase the volume of recyclable materials that are ultimately processed in local factories.
It is important to note that Japan is the 3rd largest paper producing country in the world. However, the volume of consumption of paper products here has decreased. But this had no effect on Japan losing its position in the world of paper manufacturing. For the most part, paper products are used in this country for printing documents, letters, and communication purposes. Paper is also consumed as a household product. Due to the development of digital technologies, it is expected that paper will be consumed in even smaller quantities in Japan in the near future.
Despite increased consumption, Japan is successfully implementing its recycling plans. 81 or more percent of waste paper that has been recycled is a fairly high figure. But Japan is striving to improve it, and this is certainly encouraging.
