Europe tightens laws to combat packaging waste

In the countries of the European Union, measures are constantly being taken to improve the situation associated with the disposal of various wastes. For example, recently a law has been proposed that will tighten the handling of packaging waste. At the same time, it is important to note that the old corrugated containers price and prices for other waste paper in Europe show that paper waste is in demand at the regional level. The waste is even sold abroad.

Under the new law, companies that are faced with the generation of plastic packaging waste will have to take action to reuse them. At the same time, the adopted law will affect almost all enterprises, regardless of their type of activity. Today, in the countries of the European Union, plastic and paper packaging is used. The ratio of packaging products from these materials is 40/50 percent. In both cases, the design of the package often leads to the fact that it is impossible to reuse it.

If the law is passed, then companies whose activities generate packaging waste will have to ensure that the garbage is recycled. This allows the possibility that the garbage was subjected to natural biodegradation. It is not clear why such an opportunity should be provided. It is much more efficient to establish links with recycling companies that can recycle plastic or paper waste. It is important that in Europe they still understand that it is necessary to develop the economy of circulating packaging. Such an economy would boost economic growth without compromising the natural resources that European countries have today.
