Recycled paper in Europe – new problems

OCC11

The European Union has adopted new rules for waste management. As a result, a serious problem has arisen. This problem is expressed in the fact that there is a threat to businesses exporting recycled paper from European countries, which is obtained, among other things, from OCC11. According to experts, this process is now becoming seriously complicated. It will not be so easy to sell recycled paper waste to other countries, since the new rules limit exports from Europe.

Experts say that the European market will become oversaturated with a product that is obtained as a result of recycling paper waste. It will be difficult to sell recycled paper outside of European countries. The main importers are India and the countries of Southeast Asia. Now they will face problems with the supply of recycled waste paper from Europe, in which they are most interested for a number of reasons.

It should be noted that there are quite a lot of recycling plants in Europe. The European Union actively supports the recycling program in order to reduce the amount of consumer waste. This policy is correct. The recycling industry must be supported. However, contrary to its aspirations, the European Union has introduced rules that limit the export of recycled waste paper. We hope that a solution to this difficult problem will be found. Because otherwise, the European market will face oversaturation, which is unlikely to benefit the economies of European countries.
